Have you ever felt like you’ve been overlooked? Like you’re just a face in the crowd and nothing else? You’re doing everything that you know how to do. You’re serving God with all of your heart, soul, and strength…yet you still feel like you’ve been lost in a sea of people, never to be found again. If you’ve ever felt like this, I’m writing to your heart today to let you know that God is faithful. He sees you, He loves you, and He hears you. And you are NOT, by any means, just a face in the crowd.
We all go through different seasons in life. There are times of testing before we are able to receive certain promises that God has for us. When we’re walking through a desert and our heart is being tested…over and over and over again…we begin to feel tired. We start to faint. We are even tempted to give up. Despite the trials, the disappointments, the circumstances that we don’t understand…we need to focus on the one who made the promise because He is faithful.
We need to really, and I mean REALLY, make an effort to understand God’s nature and remind ourselves of His faithfulness. We need to rest in the truth of WHO HE IS. He is faithful to fulfill His promises.
He cannot lie. He will not go against His character. He is a just God. He is a defender and refuge to all who put their trust in Him. He is FAITHFUL and nothing will ever have the power to change this amazing fact about our God.
God doesn’t forget anything that we do for Him. He takes an account of every sacrifice that we have made in His name. He remembers every battle that we have faced in order to fulfill His purpose. He sees every tear, every heartbreak, every betrayal, every disappointment. He prepares us through the wilderness in order to make sure that our hearts belong to Him and Him alone. Even when we get to the point of breaking, of falling apart, of wanting to quit…He is faithful to remind us of His promises, giving us the encouragement that we need to face another day.
In seasons where we feel like we are overlooked, God is actually protecting us. He is hiding us and preparing us…but He knows exactly where we are. He calls us by name and He doesn’t see us as just a face in the crowd. There always comes the time in which God passes over that very crowd, so He can shine His favor upon us as He moves on our behalf. We then realize that even when we felt overlooked, we were actually in the right place at the right time, perfectly positioned to receive the miracle of God’s promise to us.
