This time in which we have been assigned to live, currently shows us a face that evokes fear. Every day we hear from people, messages and social networks an invitation to be alert, cautious and scared because we continually have a danger lurking our lives and our integrity.
The pressures of work, study, economics and health are threats that can gradually drain our hope, because certainly the outside world demands more and more. All of this boils down to anxiety, a state that many of us had normalized. Anxiety, presented from psychology, as a mental state characterized by great restlessness, intense excitement and extreme insecurity.
I recognize that I have been a victim of this state, and recognizing it has helped me identify my need of Christ, knowing that in Him is my hope and my security.
However, this is a day to day, hour to hour and minute to minute job, recognizing that anxiety is always lurking, but in Jesus I find rest. He is the one who takes care of me or what may be worrying me.
In 1 Peter 3:13-15 NIV we find this hope: “Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened.” But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have…”
Christ is there with you and ready to defend you. So honor him with all your heart and let us continue to rest in the hope of his protection and care.
