This was the phrase that in a prayer I said to the Lord for something I asked but did not receive and it was not granted as I thought. And this happens to us a lot, sometimes we ask for something that we long for with all our hearts and we believe that we have everything to be able to receive it exactly as we ask, but on many occasions God says NO, and we get frustrated or sad.
But it is God having mercy on us when he redirects us in our walk, God changes our plans when that will lead us to wrong paths.
Many times we want to understand God, and in our mind we cannot measure the greatness and eternity of His plans, in which He sees beyond what we as humans can see.
«For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.» (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV)
This verse leads us to have faith in His plans, to believe that the thoughts He has are good for our lives. Many times our plans are not aligned with His and will not lead us towards His purpose, this is why we must trust our Father.
Sometimes God says NO to a job because He knows that He will become a god and steal our blessing, probably God says NO to a couple because He knows that it is an unequal yoke and will hurt us, God says NO to a business because He knows that there will be something that takes us away from their plans. We must thank God for all those times that he tells us YES, but also understand that NOs are also good and that they will bring us blessings in the future.
As humans we will not always be able to understand God’s plans but it is enough to trust Him, believe in His love and faithfulness to walk towards the purpose He has designed for us.
“As for God, his way is perfect: The Lord’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him.” (Psalms 18:30 NIV)
God knows our life and our future, He has given us promises and He will keep them. So it is not a question of understanding Him, it is enough to love Him to be able to believe in Him, and although our mind does not accept or understand what is happening, my faith must go further and see with the eyes that He sees. Faith sees with the heart, what our eyes cannot see.
“Rejoice in hope, endure in suffering, persist in prayer.” (Romanos 12:12 NET)
