Oraciones Que Se Contestan

Many times we call when we want something. We call a restaurant when we are hungry, we call a friend when we want to hang out. But, how often do we call God? How often do we call to say more than just hello? How often do we seek Him in order to search ourselves? When you ask God to search your heart, it’s like asking your closest friend to tell you things about yourself, things you may not see. Now, you might have a friend who is strong and says things like, you need to change your clothes, you need a haircut, and then they give you a long list of things that leaves you responding with, “take it easy.” But when you ask God, He will show you the things you need to improve on and always with love. We should always ask Him as David did, to “search my heart Oh Lord” (Psalm 139: 23), “cleanse me from my hidden faults” (Psalm 19:12). Show me what I need to work on, show me the areas in my life that I need to fix. Take out those bad spots and fill it with your goodness. Give me a new heart.

But we can’t do that if we don’t sit with Him, if we don’t spend time with him. Get to know your Dad, because He is the only one who truly knows you, who truly sees you. Many may not know their dad, may not want to know their dad, or may not even have the chance, but you have a Father who is available 24/7. And guess what? He wants you to call on him. He wants you to seek after him. He knows how much you need it.

I love it when my daughter searches for me. She will search every room, calling out “Daddy, Daddy”. Her cries can sound so desperate when she seeks me. When she finds me, she takes me by the hand and leads me to play with her. Sometimes, it is to get her something she cannot reach, or things she is not supposed to have, but often it is to simply have me sit and play with her. Sometimes, we are the same way with God, we ask Him things we can never possibly reach, but that’s okay. We have a Father who loves to dream with us. Although, He may not always give us exactly what we are asking for, what He gives us will always be good. “How much more will your Father, who is in Heaven give what is good to those who ask him?” (Matt 7:11).

I have come to find this more and more true, when I simply seek his heart. Seek the giver, not the gift. Seek the heart of the Father. Who knows our heart better, than the one who created it? The one who holds it in His hands. Seek Him. He is much closer than you think.
